While the conqueror had considered the length of the having been living enemy

Suddenly a voice is having been heard; It was not easy to know

from where, but it is having been heard: “why, son of Agenore, do you watch the having been destroyed

snake? And you will [soon] be watched as a snake”

That trembling for a long while, had destroyed his color equally with his mind

And the ice cold hairs of his head were upright with terror:

Behold the protectress of the man, sinking through the air

Pallas, has arrived She orders the teeth pertaining to the viper to be sowed

into the having been moved ground, [where] there is about to be developments of a future people

And he obeys, as he pressed open the furrow made by a plough he could arrange the teeth on the ground, the seeds of human origin

Thenceforth, (greater than faith) clods of lands begin to be moved

And first the point of the spears appeared from the furrows

Soon the having been signaling protections of the heads were having been decorated with a cone

Soon the shoulders, arms and breasts exist and are having been burdened with weapons

And a having been shielded field planted with wheat of the men rises

Thus, when the curtains are being risen from the festive theaters

The signs are accustomed to rise, and [are] the first to show A facial expression,

and in a short time the rest are exposed whole and they are visible with a gentle sustained continuous course, and entirely having been lead forth,

and they place feet into the border of the under world.

Having been terrified by a new enemy cadmus was preparing to take the weapons.

“Don’t you take up [arms]!” exclaims one of the people, which the land had given existence to,

“don’t you insert yourself in civil wars”

and thus he himself struck one of the earth borne brothers at close range

with the rigid sword, he himself falls beyond reach.

Also he had given this [man] to a violent death, which

he lived no longer than than that [him], and exhales only the airs which he had received

They are joined them together by an equal example a disorder rages

The having been approached brothers mutually fall through the wound.

And now the young men, having obtained by the space of a brief life,

they were beating the[ir] bloody mother with a  moderately warm chest.

With 5 survivors, one of whom was Echion

Having been warned by Athena he threw his own weapons to the ground

And he asked and gave the pact of brotherly peace

The Sidonian visitor had these as companions of his work

when he, having been ordered by Phoebe, placed the city.

Alternate translation with revisions for clarity:

A voice is heard while the conqueror is staring at the vast bulk of his conquered enemy. It's difficult to imagine where it comes from, but it's there. 'Why look at the serpent you killed, son of Agenor? You, too, will be a serpent to be admired.' He stands there trembling for a long time, losing color in his face and his hair standing on end in cold terror. Then, suddenly, Pallas, the hero's guardian, appears, sinking through the upper air, and orders him to turn the earth and sow the dragon's teeth, which are destined to generate a people. He obeys, and sows the teeth in the ground as human seed, opening the furrows with a slice of his plough. Then, almost beyond belief, the cultivated earth begins to move, and first spear points appear among the furrows, then helmets nodding their painted crests, then chests and shoulders spring up, arms weighed down with spears, and the field is thick with warriors' round shields. When the curtain is lifted at the end of a play, designs rise in the air, first revealing faces and then gradually the rest, until, raised gently and steadily, they are seen whole, and their feet rest on the lower border. Cadmus was about to take up his weapons, alarmed by this new threat: 'Keep away,' one of the earth created armies cried, 'and take no part in our internal wars!' So saying, he raised his sharp sword against one of his earth-born brothers nearby before succumbing to a spear thrown from afar. But the person who killed him lived no longer than he did and exhaled the air he had just inhaled. This example stirred them all equally, as if by a storm-wind, and these brothers of a moment were felled by mutual wounds in their warring. And now these youths, who had been given such short lives, were drumming on their mother's breast, which was hot with their blood. Echion was one of the five who remained standing. In response to Pallas' warning, he threw his weapons to the ground and sought and received assurances of peace from his brothers. When Sidonius wanderer created the city instructed by Apollo's oracle, he worked alongside these men as companions in his work.
